Join Retrofit Canada and ENBIX as we host a presentation of LEEP’s Larsen Truss Case Studies: High Performance Walls for Renovations. This workshop will examine two residential retrofits, one located in Alberta and one in Quebec.
Stephen Magneron of Homesol Building Solutions will lead this workshop, with builders from HOMESOL Building Solutions and energy advisors from Sol Invictus Energy Services leading a Q&A session about the Alberta project.
ENBIX will feature its Wall library, real world examples of retrofit walls, including an example Larsen Truss retrofit.
ABMunis and the City of Airdrie will be onsite to speak about the newly launched CEIP program.
Does your company install insulation, windows, doors, solar PV, HVAC, or lighting? The City of Airdrie launched the Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) in February 2025. CEIP provides low-cost financing to install clean energy projects, and the loan is repaid through a homeowner’s annual property tax bill. Learn more about the program and how to streamline CEIP projects at the in-person contractor information session.
Some highlights of the topics will include:
- IDP collaboration, project targets, decision pathways, & alternate options are discussed,
- the modifications to existing walls, foundations, eaves, & the new assembly details
- Explains and illustrates the materials, details, and relevant building science, for two different ‘modified Larsen Truss’ solutions
- Includes the addition of deep window bucks and integration into new wall assembly
- Energy modeling & Energuide Rating of ‘before’ and ‘after’ energy performance,
- Calculates ‘before’ & ‘after’ building envelope Heat Loss & Heat Gain using CSA F280 assessment
- LEEP’s MCE2 Material Carbon calculator is used to compare the impact of various material selections,
- Notes project-specific problems, solutions, and lessons learned,
- CEIP Program highlights for contractors.
