The winners of our second annual Maverick Awards will be announced on March 31st! Stay tuned to see which outstanding companies, individuals, or projects will be recognized for their great work in sustainable building.

The Maverick Awards are reflective of Built Green Canada’s key underpinnings of ambassadorship, innovation and transformation:

• The Ambassador Award recognizes those on the ground, encouraging and promoting sustainable building; this speaks to Built Green Canada’s origins in industry engagement and the value of word of mouth.
• The Innovation Award recognizes creative ways sustainable building is happening and progressing industry; it’s in this spirit that Built Green Canada’s third-party certification programs were originally developed and continue to evolve.
• And the Transformational Award recognizes the impact sustainability practices can have in driving real change—achievements which embody the organization’s mission.

Our Maverick Awards take a non-traditional approach in that they don’t culminate with an event. Rather, winners are announced in March, followed by the roll out of our marketing communications, including a series of assets about our winners that will inform the campaign. The creation of these is also intended for the winners’ own promotional efforts. We’re focused on putting a spotlight on our three Mavericks!
